New Vehicle Limited Warranty

New Vehicle Limited Warranty

When you drive away in a new Lincoln, you’re not just getting luxury – you’re getting peace of mind. The New Vehicle Limited Warranty is designed to protect your investment, giving you factory-backed coverage, quality part replacement, and support you can rely on from day one.

Your New Vehicle Limited Warranty coverage is provided by Lincoln Motor Company. Below we have outlined all aspects of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty from Emission Warranty to Roadside Assistance.

Key Warranty Features

Basic Coverage

  • Your Lincoln is covered for 48 months or 80,000 kilometres, whichever comes first. This includes repairs or replacements for defects in materials or workmanship on most vehicle components.

Powertrain Coverage

  • Critical drivetrain components (engine, transmission, axles, etc.) are covered for 6 years or 110,000 kilometres.

Safety Restraint System

  • Elements such as airbags and seat belt systems are protected under warranty for 5 years or 100,000 kilometres.

Corrosion Protection

  • Perforation (rust through) of body sheet-metal panels: 5 years, unlimited distance.
  • Other corrosion (non-perforation): covered under the same 48 months / 80,000 kilometres as the basic warranty.
  • If your Lincoln has aluminum body panels, those are covered against corrosion for 5 years, regardless of distance.

Hybrid & Electric Components

  • For hybrid, plug-in, or electric Lincolns, the electric drivetrain system is covered for 8 years or 160,000 kilometres, whichever occurs first. This includes items like high-voltage battery, onboard charger, inverter, and related components.

Additional Warranty Benefits

  • Over-the-air updates that are required to maintain warranty functions are covered during the warranty period.
  • Roadside Assistance is provided from the original warranty start date. For the original owner, coverage lasts the life of the vehicle; for subsequent owners, it matches the term of the powertrain warranty.

Warranty Requirements & Limitations

To keep your warranty valid:

  • The warranty begins on your retail delivery date or first use, whichever comes first.
  • Warranty repairs must be done by an authorized Lincoln or Ford-Lincoln dealer using Lincoln-approved or suitably certified parts.
  • Routine maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, etc.) must be performed as specified in your Owner’s Manual. Failure to properly maintain your Lincoln may void warranty coverage on affected components.

What’s Not Covered

Some things are specifically excluded from coverage under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty:

  • Normal wear and tear parts like wiper blades, brake pads, tires (except in case of defects), filters, etc.
  • Damage due to misuse, accidents, environmental fallout (salt, hail, tree sap, etc.), neglect, modification, or incorrect maintenance.
  • Cosmetic damage unless it’s due to a manufacturing defect discovered upon delivery. Surface blemishes or chips from road debris generally aren’t covered.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does my Lincoln warranty begin?

Your warranty begins on the date of retail delivery or the date your vehicle is first put into service, whichever comes first.

Does Roadside Assistance come with my new Lincoln?

Yes. Roadside Assistance starts with the original warranty date. For the original owner, it lasts for the life of the vehicle; for subsequent owners, it continues for the duration of the powertrain warranty.

What routine maintenance is required to keep my warranty valid?

You must follow the maintenance schedule outlined in your Owner’s Manual — this includes oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and any other required service at specified intervals.

Are tires covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty?

Tires are covered for defects in materials or workmanship under a separate pro-rata tire warranty. Normal wear or damage from road hazards is not covered.

What should I do if I need a warranty repair?

Bring your vehicle to an authorized Lincoln or Ford-Lincoln dealership. They will perform the necessary repairs using Lincoln-approved parts to ensure your coverage stays intact.

Can the warranty be transferred if I sell my Lincoln?

Yes. The remaining portion of the warranty, including powertrain coverage and Roadside Assistance, transfers automatically to the next owner for the remainder of the coverage term.

Take care of your vehicle and it will take care of you

It’s your responsibility to make sure all scheduled maintenance is performed and that the materials used meet Lincoln engineering specifications. Failure to perform scheduled maintenance as specified in the Scheduled Maintenance section in your Owner’s Guide will invalidate warranty coverage on parts affected by improper maintenance. You should therefore retain receipts for completed maintenance work and have the retailer complete the Scheduled Maintenance Validation Record.

By taking care of your vehicle you can avoid the expense of major repairs resulting from neglect or inadequate maintenance, and it may even help increase the resale value of your vehicle.

Expressway Lincoln has factory-trained technicians who can perform the required maintenance using Lincoln-approved parts. Expressway Lincoln looks forward to meeting your every service need to maximize your satisfaction with your vehicle.
